Plastination is the technique that replaces all the water i a body (or body-part) with a polymere (silicone, acryl, epoxy etc.). The technique is devellopped by the german anatom Günther von Hagens and can be seen in the exhibition BODY WORLDS.
It is not a technique that I use (yet).
More about plastination can be read in my Master-thesis:
Plastination seen with three sets of conservator eyes - the conserving eye, the storing eye and the mediating eye – is there a conflict of interests?
My thesis (in danish) is available for download here.
